FAQs

  • What is the difference between resin and varnish?

Resin and varnish are two different ways an artist can seal their artwork to protect it from harmful elements.

Varnish is a thin, transparent, liquid coating used to seal a variety of works and is composed of a blend of ingredients. It is thinner than resin, achieving a more subtle gloss finish. The varnish used in my artwork is non-yellowing.

Resin is made of two components, a base and hardener. These are mixed together, creating a chemical reaction that converts the resin into rigid polymers through a curing process. Resin is a thick, heavy gloss, protective finish. The resin I use in my artwork is UV and HALS stabilized for protection against yellowing.

  • How can I care for my resin art?

You can care for your resin artwork by keeping it out of direct sunlight or any other uv light source. Resin should not be exposed to extreme heat, moisture, or oxidation.

Resin is waterproof! Clean your resin art with a gentle glass cleaner or a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or alcohol to clean your art.
